We had Mary Poppins on TV yesterday. It may not be much to the kids these days, but my oh my if you watch it at the right age (and in the past), it was one of the most amazing things to have come out of Disney. In fact a few days ago, somebody asked me my favourite Disney movie (you now who you are :P), and I thought Snow White, Beauty and the Beast… but wait… how had I forgotten Mary Poppins!
Two songs from the movie have always been on my brain… and heart…
Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down… (I have always thought of it as having a much deeper meaning than that… lol)
And of course… the magic word… SuperKalaFreggiListicEspiAliDoshus :D !!!
So the movie finding is just a fluke as I go through the channels while I try to put some food inside me. Suddenly I notice Mary Poppins and text a few friends who I think would love it…
The ones who knew it loved it. The ones who did not were a bit too old to appreciate it perhaps…
I however, loved it more than I had. Was watching it after such a long time, and now knowing a thing or two about how these things work, I was just simply amazed. They have packed so much excitement and fantasy into that movie, specially at that age and time, it is no wonder that the movie tickles everyone’s fantasies so much, and makes it unique, and… perhaps one of those things that will always be loved and admired by children and parents alike all over the world.

True, there is something about Mary Poppins. For me, it reminds me of sitting at my cousin's house on Halloween (many eons ago) at 11pm getting tongue twisted at 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'.
