Going on…

I have moved to Oxford. My family is not happy and I have had a fair bit of grief from them. But then again that was expected.

I do quite love Oxford… I am settling in well and I am still awe struck by the old buildings, the architecture, and the fact that there is everything from a Halal KFC, Nandos, Subways to Spanish and Chinese take away, a Chicken Cottage, a Kebab Kid, and all that within walking distance. The area also seems to be a big centre of Italian stuff. In fact central Oxford actually has Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant as well. Not been there yet though.

I went on a scrounge to find a Sheesha place in Oxford, but apparently it has closed down now. If anybody knows of any, do tell.

Confession. I pretend to use the force on automatic doors and wave them open.

Confession. I am the broodiest man you will ever meet. I have been meaning to read Alice in Wonderland again for ages, but from a philosophical point of view. I have read a couple of chapters, and all I can think about is reading it out aloud to somebody. Obviously somebody being a kid! I mentioned it on Twitter and apparently nobody likes that! LOL!

I quite like soups. I have not yet made one though Cup-a-soups rock!

I am absolutely in love with this song right now. I do not have proper internet at home yet, and the moment I do I will download their album!

I have been to Cambridge twice this week. Its a 200 mile round trip. I am not amused.

I hope to get my broadband tomorrow. At least that is what the text from the broadband company says. Apparently the line here should be about 20 meg. Beats the barely 1 meg I had back when I lived with the folks.

My house mate cooks a mighty fine pasta. He has spent a few months in Italy.

I have still not blogged about my trip to Rome. That is because I have not been able to upload the pictures. I did upload them to facebook ages ago.

I am yet to blog about the Sailing trip too.

And yes, just down the road from where I live, you can see pretty much a good aerial view of Oxford because our home is on top of a hill. I’ll try to get a day and night shot there soon :) .

Can you meet me half way?
Right at the borderline…

I do not know many party places here in Oxford. Any tips?

Since moving, I have been sleeping properly. That is a great thing. Something I deemed impossible. I do have to buy a bed though. I have a mattress I sleep on, and in good university hostel boy style it is sat in a corner of the room. I will buy it soon… Just have not bothered yet!

I have taken a few days off since I had a few to spare. Only in work for 6 days after tomorrow but sadly the holidays are scattered. Need to find things to do.

Do you want me to visit you? Do something? I need ideas !!!

Oxford has a great bus service, and busses from Oxford go to London round the clock. So I should not have to drive to London like I used to!

And well yeah that is it really… a few random facts and things about and from me! I hope to post a lot more in the near future.. till then Au Revoir!

Monologue

I don’t deserve you…

I have heard that way too much in my life.  I wish I didn’t.

It is not like I am a great person.

It only ends up in tears. I wish it does not this time!

Shorthand

I came across this in the news today… The miraculous wonder that is short hand!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8356000/8356176.stm

The first ever time I came across short hand was when I was a wee child. I happened to be at my dad’s office and he had called in this guy and I cannot remember why but given him a bit of a scolding.

Once done, he took to dictating something he wanted him to type out for him.

So there I was sat, next to this guy, and my dad was talking while he scribbled these funny things on his notepad.

And I wondered… is he taking the mick?

Later I mentioned it to my dad where he told me what shorthand was.

It was one of those OOOHHHH moments for me!

Fireworks

I know I have not been around for ages but then again I am without a broadband connection and have been generally busy!

Here is a picture I took with my mobile during the bonfire weekend in Milton Keynes.

I love it because it is not about the fireworks, but about the people.

Fireworks MK 2009

Love how everybody is just totally enthralled by what they see. It could very well be brain washing.

Monologues

It is funny...
How going through a set of pictures,
A bunch of notes, some words, some memoirs,
A video, a song, a drink, a dance...
And most of all... during a conversation...
For a very brief moment
A small instant
You fall in love
And you want the moment to last forever
And then the instance passes
The moment is gone
And then you forget all about it...

Last Seven Days

In the last seven days, I have been to Rome and back, sailed from Portsmouth to Brighton and back to Portsmouth, and moved out of my folks to my own place.
More on that later!
Though there are pictures of Rome on my facebook!

The curious case of the news that never happened

Last night, first time since Michael Jackson's death, a new hit the world of internet and media by storm. CNN was doing a live coverage, and within an hour or so BBC caught up with what was going on.
Apparently a 6 year old boy, called Falcon, had climbed into his fathers experimental helium filled balloon aircraft and floated away, without any ability to control the craft. There was no knowledge whether the said balloon would even make a safe landing. Soon the media helicopters had the balloon on a live cam, you had maps showing the balloon's path and exact co-ordinates. Twitter as usual jumped in on the action and 8 of the leading 10 trends on twitter were related to the young lad.
And then the balloon landed, and there was no Falcon inside.
In fact he had been hid in his garage while the whole world was trying helplessly to find him.
Makes you think really! A drama that went on for a good two hours. Was it staged? Is that bad parenting? The family had already been on a popular show called Wife Swap. Did they miss the attention? Though they deny all such charged, you have to think. And if it was a genuine case, what about the two searches the forces had done of their house. So it was the brother who claimed he had seen him crawl into the balloon as it took off. Why was the not so intelligent intelligence services able to catch that lie, of a little child, when they claim to be able to break down even the hardest criminals. I may be exaggerating matters a bit here, but you have to think. The world we live in, is changing rapidly. Where hoax news is more important than actual issues, and a bit of fun has more importance than the value of life itself!

Monologues

I want to hold onto you
For my own selfish purposes
To fulfil my hunger and lust
To leech upon your soul
To leech upon your body
Till I need you…

And then let you go!

Another shot I just love! Maybe when pigeons take over this is what the world will look like!

Also, is it just me, but these also seem to be staring at me.

Have animals just learnt to pose?

These are the books those pigeons read before they took over the world!
