Some from Rome…

Thought I should put up some pictures from my visit to Rome.

As amazing as it is, pictures just do not do any justice to it!

This was me playing around with the lens. This picture was my picture for Halloween ! PA205421

I did most of Rome in a day. It is amazing that you can do that sort of a thing. Then again I was only there for a single day. So it had to do.

This one I call the falling light.

PA205294

This building has a hole in the middle of the roof. You can sort of see the building in the back ground. I just love this picture.

This was taken on my train journey to Rome from the airport.

PA204985Most statues and figurines were missing noses!

PA205357This is a caption competition ! Go on … surprise me :D

PA205071Big butt!

PA205149

PA205077The two ladies seem to be discussing how great I am !!! The mom is trying to vad e her daughter away but she cannot help it !

PA205256If I ever design a car, this is what the poster will look like.

      PA205215

Catching the sun, and then ignoring it!

PA205148Dude, where's my head!!!

PA205123This picture was of course not taken by me ! Shows the alive side of me. I would have said human but pretty much most alive things drink water!

PA205251I love this uncle. What a pose :D

Also his lion has an itch in his head !

PA205352And this is one of the things that makes Rome so special !

PA205237

Picture of the museum, taken at an angle, against the sun!

And the sun sets onto Rome.

Monologue

I feel weird.

Weird Weird.

I do not feel like eating. Where I had to force myself to eat. Because I should.

Some of them slack off… and I slack off on some of them. When I try to regain it, it is never really the same.

Some of them start off with the words ‘ I don’t really deserve you ‘ .

Others just make assumptions.

Yet others, do not believe.

Others find things wrong in me, yet what they see is a mere reflection of themselves.

It bothers me sometimes.

Human nature bothers me sometimes.

Emotions bother me sometimes. Emotions of others. Selfish emotions. Selfish emotions that hurt themselves. Why harbour such emotions that will only hurt your own self, and obviously others in the process.

Going off on a crazy cycle … and withdrawing.

Where do I see myself in ten years time? I was asked this question today. I think I know the answer.

Went to this amazing lecture that was about everything from Formula 1 cars, to carbon dioxide emissions,  to racing, to engine designs, to amazing achievements in automotive industry.

What inspired me the most was the pride the guy felt as he was telling us all this.

He has designed a lot of engines that have won rallies, formula 1 world championships (Team Renault – Alonso – 2005) and things like V10 engines for a lot of things.

What did I gain from the lecture? I was asked this question today too.

Inspiration.

Inspiration to do something I can be proud of in some time.

I will most probably work with a bigger zeal tomorrow. Glad I did attend the lecture.

Joy of living in Oxford.

Emotions ruin friendships.

They should enhance it.

Emotions are what make us human.

Inability to be in touch with them is what makes us useless.

A lot of people are addicted to unhappiness. I say unhappiness because they are not particularly attracted to sadness. But they are addicted to forms of emotions and feelings that take them away from happiness. It always bothers me why that does happen. You tell people and they say that no, they are planning for the future. A future that never comes. Others just like to be miserable. Why?

WAKE UP YOU FUCKING MORONS !

Things change…

So you may (or may not) have noticed that things look a bit different here.

Well I have changed the name of the blog. For the simple reason that about 90 % of the blogs have the word random in them and I don’t think I need to be one of them.

And… I have changed the blog head image as well.

This image is taken on the day we were expecting a meteorite shower. I did not see much but if you look closely at the top of the picture you can see two meteors, falling down, a couple of small thin lines going downwards.

Do not have a lot to report, apart from the fact that Oxford is still awesome, I have eaten so much over Eid that I feel immensely fat, and I have a mild headache!

I won’t title this

Coz I can…

And I changed my picture.

It is one of those bleugh Monday mornings where it is dark and cold and miserable and wet.

And I cannot help but think that if this was Lahore this would have been the most beautiful weather for a long time.

Bleh!

Meh!

Pffft!

Going on…

I have moved to Oxford. My family is not happy and I have had a fair bit of grief from them. But then again that was expected.

I do quite love Oxford… I am settling in well and I am still awe struck by the old buildings, the architecture, and the fact that there is everything from a Halal KFC, Nandos, Subways to Spanish and Chinese take away, a Chicken Cottage, a Kebab Kid, and all that within walking distance. The area also seems to be a big centre of Italian stuff. In fact central Oxford actually has Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant as well. Not been there yet though.

I went on a scrounge to find a Sheesha place in Oxford, but apparently it has closed down now. If anybody knows of any, do tell.

Confession. I pretend to use the force on automatic doors and wave them open.

Confession. I am the broodiest man you will ever meet. I have been meaning to read Alice in Wonderland again for ages, but from a philosophical point of view. I have read a couple of chapters, and all I can think about is reading it out aloud to somebody. Obviously somebody being a kid! I mentioned it on Twitter and apparently nobody likes that! LOL!

I quite like soups. I have not yet made one though Cup-a-soups rock!

I am absolutely in love with this song right now. I do not have proper internet at home yet, and the moment I do I will download their album!

I have been to Cambridge twice this week. Its a 200 mile round trip. I am not amused.

I hope to get my broadband tomorrow. At least that is what the text from the broadband company says. Apparently the line here should be about 20 meg. Beats the barely 1 meg I had back when I lived with the folks.

My house mate cooks a mighty fine pasta. He has spent a few months in Italy.

I have still not blogged about my trip to Rome. That is because I have not been able to upload the pictures. I did upload them to facebook ages ago.

I am yet to blog about the Sailing trip too.

And yes, just down the road from where I live, you can see pretty much a good aerial view of Oxford because our home is on top of a hill. I’ll try to get a day and night shot there soon :) .

Can you meet me half way?
Right at the borderline…

I do not know many party places here in Oxford. Any tips?

Since moving, I have been sleeping properly. That is a great thing. Something I deemed impossible. I do have to buy a bed though. I have a mattress I sleep on, and in good university hostel boy style it is sat in a corner of the room. I will buy it soon… Just have not bothered yet!

I have taken a few days off since I had a few to spare. Only in work for 6 days after tomorrow but sadly the holidays are scattered. Need to find things to do.

Do you want me to visit you? Do something? I need ideas !!!

Oxford has a great bus service, and busses from Oxford go to London round the clock. So I should not have to drive to London like I used to!

And well yeah that is it really… a few random facts and things about and from me! I hope to post a lot more in the near future.. till then Au Revoir!

Monologue

I don’t deserve you…

I have heard that way too much in my life.  I wish I didn’t.

It is not like I am a great person.

It only ends up in tears. I wish it does not this time!

Shorthand

I came across this in the news today… The miraculous wonder that is short hand!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8356000/8356176.stm

The first ever time I came across short hand was when I was a wee child. I happened to be at my dad’s office and he had called in this guy and I cannot remember why but given him a bit of a scolding.

Once done, he took to dictating something he wanted him to type out for him.

So there I was sat, next to this guy, and my dad was talking while he scribbled these funny things on his notepad.

And I wondered… is he taking the mick?

Later I mentioned it to my dad where he told me what shorthand was.

It was one of those OOOHHHH moments for me!

Fireworks

I know I have not been around for ages but then again I am without a broadband connection and have been generally busy!

Here is a picture I took with my mobile during the bonfire weekend in Milton Keynes.

I love it because it is not about the fireworks, but about the people.

Fireworks MK 2009

Love how everybody is just totally enthralled by what they see. It could very well be brain washing.
